Job Opportunity: Special Education Teacher (Self-Contained Classrooms)

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in self-contained classrooms serving students with a range of needs. These positions are for K-12th grade, and youll be working with students across the spectrum, including moderate to severe and mild to moderate disabilities.

Position Details

• Grade Levels: K-12th grade students.
• Classroom Setting: Self-contained classrooms, with small groups of students who need specialized support.
• Student Needs: You will work with students with a range of disabilities, including moderate to severe and mild to moderate needs.
• Location: Multiple classroom settings within our district.
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of each student.
• Provide direct instruction in academic and social-emotional skills within a self-contained classroom environment.
• Collaborate with other special education staff, general education teachers, and families to ensure the success of each student.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education (or related field).
• Valid Special Education Teaching Certification (state-specific).
• Experience working with students with moderate to severe and mild to moderate disabilities is preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
• Passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with disabilities.
