Special Education Teachers near Fairhaven, Oregon

Minimum 1 years special education experience required.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year. This full-time position will involve working with a self-contained classroom for elementary students in grades K-3. The role is crucial in fostering a nurturing and supportive environment tailored to the unique needs of each student.

Key Responsibilities

• Classroom Management: Oversee a self-contained classroom with 8-10 elementary students.
• Instructional Support: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
• Collaboration: Work alongside paraeducators (paras) in the classroom to provide comprehensive support.
• Communication: Engage with parents, guardians, and other professionals to support student development.
• Assessment: Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adapting teaching methods as necessary.
• Curriculum Development: Design and execute curriculum plans that accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
• Behavioral Support: Apply positive behavioral interventions to maintain a conducive learning environment.
  
  

Working Hours

• Full-time position with 37.5 hours per week.
• Standard school hours with occasional meetings or additional responsibilities as required.
  
  

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Certification: Valid teaching certification in Special Education for the state of Oregon.
• Experience: Prior experience in a self-contained classroom setting is preferred.
• Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
