Key Responsibilities
- Assessment & Evaluation:Conduct speech and language assessments for students to identify communication disorders and develop appropriate intervention plans.
- Intervention & Therapy:Provide direct speech therapy services to students in individual or group settings based on their IEP goals.
- Collaboration:Work closely with teachers, parents, and other educational staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language needs.
- Progress Monitoring:Track and document student progress toward IEP goals, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
- IEP Participation:Actively participate in IEP meetings, providing insight on student needs and progress.
- Consultation & Training:Provide consultation and professional development to staff and parents regarding speech and language issues, strategies, and resources.
- Documentation & Compliance:Ensure all documentation, reports, and billing records are completed in a timely and accurate manner, in compliance with district and state regulations.
- Masters degreein Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university.
- Georgia licensureas a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Certificationby the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or the ability to obtain certification during employment (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation, with experience working within the framework of special education.
- Familiarity withassistive technologyfor communication (e.g., AAC devices) is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple caseloads and priorities.
