Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, with a focus on Visual Impairments, or a related field.
- Valid Massachusetts state certification in teaching students with visual impairments (TVI certification preferred).
- Strong knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and other tools for visually impaired students.
- Full time or part time hours
- On site required
- MA state certification
- Caseload details will be disclosed on interview
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments.
- Provide direct instruction in core academic subjects, using specialized techniques and tools to enhance learning.
- Assist students in using assistive technology, braille, and other adaptive equipment.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive educational experience.
- Monitor and assess students' progress, making adjustments to teaching strategies as needed.
- Support students social and emotional development by fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom culture.
- Provide training to staff and parents on strategies and tools for supporting students with visual impairments.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavior.
