Minimum 1 years special education experience required.
Soliant is a Special Education with a big heart : we need a teacher for a Life Skills classroom of K-3rd grade students with profound needs.
Requirements :
Connecticut Special Education Teacher certificate
Previous experience in non-verbal students a plus
Pay and Benefits :
Hourly, W2 pay of $40 to $52 / hr

Scope of duties :
Understand student needsbased on parental feedback, staff consultations, and prior records
Administerdiagnostic tests
Consolidatetesting information, observations, and determinestudent's strengths, weaknesses, and potential
Developshort-term and long-term goals, as part of an Individual Education Plan
Presentstudents' present levels, and their IEP goals, to staff and parents
Developclassroom activities, implementlesson plans, and presentperiodic progress reports
Collaboratewith classroom aides to foster a safe learning environment
Maintainrecords of student activities
Consultwith parents, and makeadjustments to classroom activities as needed
