What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Engineer, Systems and Hardware position at SOLiD Gear Inc?
We seek a highly motivated and technically qualified individual to join our NTIA NOFO 2 SRFA 1 Development Team.
The Research Engineer, Systems and Hardware will oversee the systems integration and test.
This position will work closely with System, Hardware, and Software engineers.
Travel : Up to 20% as required

Reporting to the Principal Research Engineer, System, this position is a key contributor to SOLiD's continued growth and success.
Duties will include the following :
Responsibilities
- Understand the system of O-RAN RU and DAS (Distributed Antenna System) and engage in technical discussions with mobile operators
- O-RAN RU system design, including functional features
- Analysis and definition of O-RU performance and certification requirements (e.g., 3GPP certification, O-RAN certification)
- Define product specifications based on PRD (Product Requirement Document)
- Define hardware, firmware, and software functionalities
- Address implementation issues in hardware and software development, revise or update specifications in collaboration with the PLM team as needed
- Conduct hardware and software integration testing, functional verification, and develop technical transfer procedures
- Set up and conduct E2E testing and ensure compliance with 3GPP conformance standards
- Perform product reliability testing (e.g., temperature cycle tests) and obtain required certifications such as FCC and UL
- Distribute engineering Bill of Materials
- Support producing product samples for the verification and IOT
