Position Overview :
Solid Power is seeking a Materials Engineer to join our talented team working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next-generation, solid-state electrolyte materials. Solid Power is a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative team environment. The Materials Engineer will be a part of the Electrolyte Technologies team, assisting personnel on a variety of projects relating to solid-state electrolytes, with a specific focus on synthesis, characterization, process development and scaleup.
Job Duties
- Design and implement highly systematic DOEs toward critical material development
- Conduct relevant characterization (e.g. physical, chemical and electrochemical) on electrolytes and electrode materials
- Participate with cross-functional teams to introduce and execute process improvements and / or equipment upgrades to improve electrolyte performance and manufacturability
- Maintain thorough and accurate records of all conducted experimentation
- Interface with Cell Technologies team to evaluate electrolyte properties' effect on cell performance, safety and quality
- Participate with cross-functional teams to develop next-generation materials and transfer developed materials and processes to the production scale
- Conform to all safety precautions and protocols
- Document and follow Solid Power's standard operating procedures and assist in drafting or improving procedures during process development
- Mentor junior team members, operators and interns

Salary Range : $100,000 - $135,000 / annually
