What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Operator position at Solid Surface Craftsman?
Since its inception in 1987, Solid Surface Craftsman, Inc. (SSC) has been driven to provide the best quality products to the commercial and residential millwork market.
Our 50,000 sq. ft. facility, located in Glenville, New York houses our cabinetry and counter-top divisions. All our cabinets are hand crafted using quality hardwoods and materials. Our finishing facility is one of the leaders in the northeast specializing in custom colorization.
We are currently looking for a skilled and experienced CNC Operator in our granite department
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following areas:
- Set up machinery for production
- Measure and verify all calculations prior to setting up machinery
- Track jobs worked on daily for accounting
- Complete routine maintenance of the machine
- Follow and enforce all safety rules and ensure work area is clean
- Verify quality of finished work pieces by inspecting, comparing to templates, and measuring dimensions
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Ability to read and understand construction documents
- Knowledge of CNC equipment preferred
- Detail orientated and conscientious
- Excellent work ethic and dependability
- Does well under pressure and adheres to timelines whenever possible
- Communicate effectively with co-workers and managers
- Be able to lift 50 lbs
- Forklift certified a plus
Pay
- Hourly rate based upon qualifications and experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
