Position Summary
This position is responsible for maintaining and processing work orders for Equipment Maintenance and maintaining the Inventory system within the department. The position provides customer service and issues automotive and heavy equipment repair parts to mechanics using the department’s Fleet Maintenance program (Faster CCG). This position is responsible for completing clerical duties and monitors and maintains department files to include training records, safety meetings, department invoices, receipts, purchasing orders fuel keys, parts, Inventory cycle counts, attendee logs, and ongoing certifications and renewals for employees in the department.
This position reports to the Supervisor of Inventory and requires reliability, dependability, and accountability in all aspects of the defined role. This position is required to work Tuesday through Friday 10:00am – 6:30pm and Saturday 7:00am – 3:30pm and may be required to work other shifts and weekends based on department needs.
Essential Functions & Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Process repair orders for the Maintenance Department.
- Answer incoming calls for the Maintenance Department via the Telephone or Radio.
- Provide internal and external customer service.
- Order special request nonstock items.
- Order gasoline and diesel fuel when assigned and track daily fuel usage.
- Monitor and maintain department files to include training records, safety meetings, department invoices, receipts, purchasing orders fuel keys, parts, Inventory cycle counts, attendee logs, and ongoing certifications and renewals for employees in the department.
- Works at inventory counter issuing automotive and heavy equipment repair parts to mechanics using department’s Fleet Maintenance program (Faster CCG).
- Prepare and process work orders and process the receiving of incoming orders for repairing parts and supplies as needed.
- Ability to operate company vehicles to pick up parts.
- Assist with various duties within the Inventory Section as required.
- May be required to work other shifts and weekends when needed.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned to accomplish team and agency objectives.
- Knowledge of the automotive parts department and inventory systems.
- Ability to order and maintain accurate record keeping and entries in an inventory ordering system.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with the public, peers, and superiors.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to respond to inquiries and process orders.
- strong record keeping skills and organization skills.
- Ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions.
- Strong computer and Microsoft office skills including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Ability to operate a forklift preferred.
Education, Experience, Certificates and Licenses
The ideal candidate possesses the education and experience listed below.
- A minimum high school or GED diploma.
- Experience and/or training in the automotive field.
- Knowledge of Faster CCG Fleet Maintenance Program preferred.
- Any combination of experience, education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Valid Florida Driver's License.
