Job Summary:
The Recycling Operations Specialist will play a critical role in the recycling process by sorting and processing various recyclable materials. This position requires working as part of a team to ensure that materials are properly sorted for efficient recycling, contributing to our mission of sustainability.
This position involves routine manual labor, operating machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, conducting regular inspections of incoming materials for quality and contamination, collaborating with team members to meet daily processing goals, following safety protocols and guidelines, and assisting in training new employees on sorting techniques and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sort and categorize recyclable materials
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the recycling facility
- Operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
- Conduct regular inspections of incoming materials for quality and contamination
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily processing goals
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines
- Assist in training new employees on sorting techniques and safety procedures
Requirements:
Skills and Qualifications:
- Basic skills in the operation, maintenance and safe use of trucks and light tractors
- General knowledge of traffic rules and regulations
- Knowledge of safety rules, including accident causes and prevention
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with associates and general public
- Ability to effectively communicate in a courteous manner and demonstrate teamwork skill
- Ability to follow directions
