What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solid Waste Account Representative position at Solid Waste Management?
Position Summary
Set-up, transfer and terminate Solid Waste refuse collection services; respond to and resolve issues or questions related to refuse collection services; research billing disputes and communicate results to the customer; inform customers of policies and procedures; maintain and update customer service interaction and transaction records; conduct periodic audits on all customer accounts and perform a variety of tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements
Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration; and
Three (3) years of customer service, bookkeeping or basic accounting experience; and
To include one (1) year of supervisory of lead experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
Preferred Knowledge
- Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes, regulations and ordinances
- Modern office procedures, methods and equipment including computers
- Occupational hazards and standard safety issues
- Operations, services and activities of a collection/disposal program
- Principles and procedures of record keeping and report preparation

- Prepare clear and concise letters and reports
- Interpret, apply and enforce Federal, State and local laws, codes and ordinances
- Review and interpret ordinance and code amendments
- Respond to requests and inquiries from the general public
- Communicate clearly and concisely
