Role Overview
As a Senior BI Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our BI infrastructure, focusing on Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, and Azure Data Technologies. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, and engineers to ensure reliable, scalable, and efficient BI solutions.
Responsibilities
- BI Development & Data Modeling
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights.
- Build and optimize data models for analytics and self-service reporting.
- Ensure data accuracy, performance, and usability for end users.
- Database & ETL Development
- Develop and optimize SQL Server queries, stored procedures, and views.
- Design and implement ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Ensure data governance, security, and quality standards are met.
- Azure Data Platform & Cloud Integration
- Work with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Azure SQL Database.Implement and optimize cloud-based data pipelines and architectures.
- Leverage Azure services for real-time and batch data processing.
- Collaboration & Business Support
- Work closely with business users to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
Qualifications
- Expertise in SQL Server – Strong knowledge of database design, indexing, performance tuning, and stored procedures.
- Power BI Expert – Advanced skills in DAX, Power Query (M language), data visualization, and report automation.
- Azure Data Stack – Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Azure SQL Database.
- ETL & Data Integration – Strong experience designing ETL pipelines and integrating data from multiple sources (SSIS).
- Data Modeling – Proficiency in star schema, snowflake schema, and data warehousing best practices.
- Coding & Scripting – Ability to work with Python or PowerShell for automation (preferred but not mandatory).
Other Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, international environment.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Business acumen in the food industry is a plus.
Preferred Experience
- 5 years of experience in BI, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in the food industry, supply chain, or retail is a plus.
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer, Power BI, SQL Server) are a plus.

Pay Range
