SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Regulatory Specialist assists in ensuring products meet regulatory labeling requirements for US and international export. Generates product label contents including ingredient statements and nutritional data to meet customer and regulatory requirements. Maintains accurate ingredient information in necessary databases and reviews all formula information to support labeling and technical information as part of the commercialization process.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Calculates product nutrition and ingredient information for product labels that are in compliance with local (US and/or Canadian regulations) and export requirements.
- Maintains formula management/nutrition databases with ingredient and formula information.
- Creates and maintains product labels and label databases for commercialization process.
- Works with Sales and R&D to create labels and approved regulatory components as part of commercialization process for new products.
- Executes the Kosher and Halal product approval process.
- Responds to nutritional and regulatory technical inquiries for both internal and external customers.
- Maintains ProductVision database to keep information and systems aligned with current supplier information and Adage.
- Works with R&D on Product Vision database maintenance for experimental ingredients.
- Responds to rapidly changing priorities according to business and customer requests.
- Uses excellent communication skills and represents the company to both external and internal customers in a professional manner.
- Follows GMP, Quality and safety practices.
- Develops product labels, while ensuring regulatory compliance.
REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university in Science discipline or related field, and 2 years of related experience in USDA or a combination of food product label regulations or nutritional experience; or equivalent combination of college education and/or experience, required.
- Must have good planning, organizational and execution skills.
- Must have the ability to complete required applicable forms in English, which requires the ability to read and write in English.

- Strong knowledge Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access and Excel).
- Ability to meet deadlines and established goals and objectives in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in proof-reading, data entry and managing databases.
- Ability to work independently and use a project management approach to work including definition of projects, agreeing to milestones, timelines and communicating updates as appropriate.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Working conditions described here are representative of those experienced by an employee daily while performing this job's functions.
- The majority of the time is spent in an office setting outside of the production plant. The plant environment will include working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.
- Frequently required to sit; stand; walk; reach with hands and arms.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance, vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
