Job Description
Solis Applied Science is seeking an Expert level Imagery Scientist Overhead Persistent Infrared specialist to support by providing technical advisory and assistance across various OPIR-related programs aligned with NGA-D mission goals and objectives. Position is in the Denver , Colorado area.
Responsibilities
OPIR Experts will provide technical guidance and oversight to junior scientists and engineers on OPIR projects, ensuring adherence to applicable regulations, standards, and best practices. This includes reviewing and providing feedback on technical reports, offering expert advice on experimental design and methodology, and ensuring the quality and integrity of the data.
Required Skills
- Must possess a current U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility (TS / SCI)
- Must be able to obtain a CI polygraph
- Strong understanding of OPIR systems and their role in intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR).
- Familiarity with infrared sensor technologies, including both thermal infrared and long-wave infrared detection.
- Knowledge of sensor design, calibration, and performance analysis, especially in satellite-based OPIR systems.
- Understanding of data processing, geospatial analysis, and image interpretation related to OPIR data.
- Experience with signal processing and algorithms used to enhance infrared data.
- Familiarity with related software tools for processing and visualizing OPIR data (e.g., remote sensing software, GIS tools).
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex OPIR data for intelligence purposes.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues in data quality, sensor performance, and operational effectiveness.
- Familiarity with the integration of OPIR data with other sensor systems for multi-sensor fusion and enhanced situational awareness.
- Proficiency in geospatial software (e.g., ArcGIS), data processing tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python), and specialized OPIR analysis platforms.
