The Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing and processing payroll for the organization, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role involves collaborating with various departments to maintain employee records and address payroll-related inquiries.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and on time for all employees
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
- Maintain accurate employee records, including hours worked, deductions, and benefits
- Collaborate with HR to manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes
- Assist with payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies
- Generate payroll reports and assist with audits as needed
- Support the accounting department in financial reporting related to payroll expenses
- Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in HR Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Proven experience in payroll processing and administration preferred
- Strong knowledge of payroll software and accounting principles required
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality required
