May be subjected to extreme weather conditions and terrain as well as physical circumstances involving extensive climbing, lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
Requires weekday and, possibly weekend work on assigned sites and performing work supporting those assigned sites. Assigned sites may also require travel, overnight, or extended stays. Sites typically are in the Southwestern United States.

The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for the assembly, installation, and testing of the electrical wiring and equipment on a solar power plant.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, and test electrical wiring and equipment using hand tools and power tools.
- Pull and terminate conductors to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and compliance with code.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as megohmmeters and voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
- Follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
- Install ground leads and connect power cabling.
- Construct and fabricate parts using hand tools and specifications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Minimum 3 to 5 years experience as an electrician in commercial construction.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications
- In-depth NEC knowledge.
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards and safety requirements.
- Solar experience preferred but not required
- Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds
- Ability to travel to other cities and states. Out-of-state travel will be required for the position for both short and long-term assignments.
- Work from ladders and scaffolds and in confined spaces to install or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
