Solon Family Dentists is a successful private dental practice in Solon, OH. We moved into a new state of the art facility in 2020. We have a Planmeca 2-D & 3-D imaging machine, a handheld “nomad” x-ray unit, intraoral cameras, Sirona CEREC milling unitas well as an Itero Scanner. We are paperless, use electronic health records and Dentrix office management software.
We are seeking a full-time or part-time dental assistant who is friendly, self-motivated, and passionate about providing high-quality care to patients.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
- Reviewing charts and treatment plans
- Taking high quality digital dental radiographs (x-rays)
- Taking intra-oral pictures with intra-oral dental camera
- Taking preliminary/ opposing alginate impressions
- Setting up room with the correct instruments, hand pieces and materials
- Recording medical and dental health histories and patient vital signs
- Providing patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling)
- Sterilizing and preparing dental instruments and equipment
- Manage infection control - prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
- Helping patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
- Providing excellent chair-side manner and patient care
- Maintaining a clean and organized dental office environment
- Monitor dental supply inventory, stock rooms
- Maintain all dental equipment including autoclave, compressor, vacuum, water system, suction lines, light curing units, etc.
- Input all treatment/treatment plans in the Dentrix management software program (charts)
- Work closely with the dental team to create personalized treatment plans
- When available, assist hygienists in charting, cleanup and setup of treatment rooms
- Updating Radiographs, Intraoral Images and Itero Scans as needed
- Assist other areas within the practice as needed
- Keep medical emergency kit updated and current
- Always abide by OSHA regulations
- Computer proficiency
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assistant program or on-the-job training preferred, but not required
- Current certification in BLS/CPR
- Excellent listening skills and a friendly, compassionate demeanor
- Ability to educate patients without judgment or scolding
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- iTero and Dentrix experience are a plus but not required
- Proficiency in digital X-rays preferred, but not required

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
