Qualifications :
Knowledge of how to setup and operate manual drill presses, grinders, band saws, lathes, and milling machines.
Knowledge of how to setup, program, and operate CNC or mechanically controlled mills and lathes.
Knowledge of cutting speeds, feeds, and correct cutting tool selection based on material being machined.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, sketches, and technical orders.
Responsibilities :
Setup and operate manual drill presses, grinders, band saws, lathes, and milling machines.
Setup, program, and operate CNC or mechanically controlled mills and lathes.
Analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective manufacturing plans based on specifications including the ability to reverse engineer an existing part.
Knowledge of cutting speeds, feeds, and correct cutting tool selection based on material being machined.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, sketches, and technical orders.
Conduct routine and preventative maintenance and repairs to machinery they use.
Inspect and measure machined parts for dimensional accuracy using micrometers, calipers, depth gages, and other forms of measurement.
Regularly perform assembly of machined components.
