Location: New York, NY
Compensation: $140,000 - $180,000 base 20% annual bonus
Our client is seeking a Director of Finance to lead financial modeling, project finance processes, and strategic analysis for its renewable energy portfolio. This is a high-impact role with direct access to senior leadership, offering the opportunity to shape financial strategy while maintaining hands-on involvement in project finance operations. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in distributed generation (DG) solar projects, particularly in the New York and Illinois markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Finance & Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models for early and late-stage renewable energy projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Investment Strategy & Analysis: Create decision frameworks to evaluate project feasibility, prioritize investments, and support negotiations.
- Portfolio Management: Oversee a portfolio of 60 projects, tracking key sensitivities and updating assumptions based on market conditions.
- Process Improvement: Enhance modeling tools, streamline inputs, and establish version control for improved decision-making.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with leadership and development teams to align financial strategies with business objectives.
Qualifications
- 4 years of experience in financial modeling for DG solar projects, with a strong focus on the New York and Illinois markets.
- Expertise in Excel-based financial modeling, including scenario management and portfolio tracking.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy financing, tax incentives, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience optimizing financial processes and developing structured frameworks for decision-making.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively communicate financial insights to stakeholders.
