Youth Mentor (Mental Health, Social Work, Psychology)

Job Summary

Solstice is a private residential treatment center for adolescent females 14-18 years old. Solstice focuses on helping our clients deal with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues. Our program specializes in helping adolescents struggling with trauma, loss, and addictive behaviors.

As a mentor at Solstice, you will impact the lives of our students by building relationships through meaningful conversations, shared experiences, and acting as a role model. Our mentors often describe their position as both challenging and rewarding. Mentors participate in equine therapy groups, outdoor adventure activities, and work closely with licensed clinical therapists to facilitate therapeutic treatment plans. This is a great opportunity to make an impact while acquiring practical experience in the field of social work and psychology.

You will be assigned to a smaller team of 10-12 dedicated staff who work closely together to provide support, training, and guidance in working with our students. Our training programs will support you in your own personal and professional growth and allow for mobility within our company.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Background in family studies/social work/psychology (preferred, but not required)

• Customer service oriented

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Strong organizational skills

• Willing to work weekends and holidays

• Strong work ethic

• Valid driver’s license

• Able to pass a background check and drug screening

Wage: starting pay $16.00 per hour. Weekend pay (Saturday & Sunday) for all mentors is $18/hr. We also offer bonuses for picking up weekend shifts and overtime. In addition, we offer on call shifts on the weekend that pay extra for being on call and picking up.

Job Type:

Full or part-time position available

• Morning (7 am - 3 pm)

• Swing (3 pm - 11 pm)
