Job Description and Responsibilities
We are looking for an energetic and experienced Cash Applications Specialist to join our finance team. This individual will be responsible for efficiently handling high volumes of transactions and remittances, as well as scanning, invoicing, and reconciling items from potentially disparate pieces of the company's financial interests. As part of our team, the ideal candidate will reconcile accounts receivable, perform collection management processes, and post payments.
Our ideal candidate is a motivated problem solver who can collaborate effectively with a team, has a high degree of accurate data entry skills and is detail oriented.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and reconcile account receivables and remittances
- Address payment issues like double payments or other discrepancies
- Resolving short payments with credit, balancing with legitimacy
- Notify customers of aging account status via email or phone call
- Track issues, errors, and returns to ensure all are completely closed and/or resolved
- Engage in collection management processes as necessary
- Serve as backup for sales order entry and incoming calls
- Provide outstanding customer service to improve customer satisfaction and relationships
- All other duties as assigned by management
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Minimum 2 years experience in accounts receivable and cash applications
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage amid multiple deadlines
- Associate's degree in a related field of study, preferred
Minimum Hiring Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship
- Must be at least 18 years of age

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds at a time
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities
