About the Job:
Performs Cardiac Ultrasounds in conjunction with cardiac testing for the geriatric, adult, pediatric, infant, and neonate populations (within level of competency and training) to acquire and analyze data obtained using cardiac ultrasound modalities and related diagnostic technologies. Practices in a manner consistent with the Elliot Hospital Inter-Professional Practice model; the Inter-society Accreditation Commission for Echocardiography (ICAEL), The American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) and the American College of Cardiology (ACC) under the general direction of the Cardiovascular Services Medical Director and the direct supervision of the Cardiovascular Services Clinical Nurse Manager.
What Youll Do:
- Assists the cardiologist within scope of practice, training and competency, transesophageal echocardiograms for the adult & geriatric patient
- Assists the cardiologist or Cardiovascular Services APRN with noninvasive pharmacological or exercise stress testing
- Performs within scope of training and competency pediatric/neonate transthoracic echocardiograms
- Performs within scope of training and competency abdominal ultrasound
- Performs within scope of training and competency carotid ultrasound
- Uses independent judgment and systematic problem solving methods to produce high quality diagnostic information and optimize patient care
Who You Are:
- Completion of an accredited program in Ultrasound, Required
- Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Certification, Re quired
- Appropriate credential in Echocardiography from the ARDMS, CCI or CARDUP, Required
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonograph (ARDMS), Required
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within one year of eligibility, Required
- Must obtain BLS within sixty (60) days of hire, Required
