Position Overview

We are seeking a big-picture, strategic thinker with a sharp, detail-oriented technical mind to serve in the pivotal role of Lead Web Architect in our company. The person best suited for this role will be a seasoned professional with 10 years of experience developing web-based software for large organizations, who is inspired by the challenge of bringing quality solutions to small businesses. This role requires a respect for budgetary constraints, the ability to think long-term rather than short-term, and the insight to discern what the customer truly needs—even when they may not yet realize what to ask for.

The ideal candidate must excel at asking questions to understand the challenges that the customer faces, identifying reliable and innovative technologies that can address those challenges, designing a practical web application that will solve the challenges, and guiding our development team to build, test and smoothly deliver the application so the client is joyfully freed from those challenges.

Key Responsibilities

- Defines technical direction and designs solutions in accordance with client and company objectives.

- Builds strong client relationships and translates business challenges into practical technical solutions.

- Guides, trains and participates with development teams as a working technical leader to deliver high-quality work, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

- Creates and oversees project plans to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining rigorous quality and compliance standards.

- Uncovers emerging technologies and upgrades best practices to elevate team performance and efficiency, continuously improving client satisfaction.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in web development, including architecting and designing web applications, as well as object-oriented design and programming.

- Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., PHP, Python, JavaScript/Node.js, Java, C#, C ) and web frameworks (e.g., Vue, Angular, React).

- Strong database expertise, SQL queries and optimization, data normalization, NoSQL databases.

- Linux / Unix server administration and scripting experience. Administration and deployment of applications in Kubernetes is a plus.

- Experience working in cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and exposure to BaaS, PaaS, and IaaS solutions.

- Knowledge and experience with emerging technologies such as AI, low-code/no-code platforms, IoT, and blockchain.

- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to project delivery. 

- Strong in-person and written communication skills, with proven track record of managing client relationships and leading technical teams.

Workplace Structure

- Full-time position with hybrid and remote options:

 - Candidates within 90 minutes of the South Windsor, CT office will be expected to work on-site two days per week.

 - Candidates outside the CT/MA/RI region may apply if they have a successful track record of working remotely, with expectation of making periodic trips to the Connecticut office.
