About the Job :
The practice of mammography is performed by a segment of health care professionals responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. Independently performs screening and diagnostic mammography exams based on institutional policies and / or practice standards and / or follows the directive of the interpreting physician to assist in the completion of the mammography exam.
What You'll Do :
- Performs mammography procedures based on the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) "Mammography Practice Standards" and the ASRT "Code of Ethics"
- Understands and adheres to departmental exam protocols
- Actively participates in quality control and quality assurance activities using the "APIE" model.
- Performs screening and diagnostic mammography exams based on institutional policies and / or practice standards and / or follows the directive of the interpreting physician to assist in the completion of the mammography exam
- Performs screening and diagnostic mammography exams based on institutional policies and / or practice standards and / or follows the directive of the interpreting physician to assist in the completion of the mammography exam
- Assists the interpreting physician as directed when involved with diagnostic procedures in breast imaging
