Job Description:
Position Summary
As a member of the EH&W team, coordinates and assists providers with patient care, clerical, environmental and organizational tasks. Coordinates administrative functions of the patient area, including reports as necessary. May be assigned other tasks as required by the manager or professional staff.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Functions as area receptionist performing Medical Receptionist/Medical Records, and other front office duties as needed receiving communication and notifying appropriate department personnel.
- Functions as a Medical Assistant for EH&W under direction of professional nursing and/or medical staff performing screening tasks, facilitating appointment preferences in urgent situations, and scheduling patient appointments within parameters set by Manager and nursing staff.
- Demonstrates department service-oriented philosophy by greeting patients and others in person and on the phone promptly and courteously, facilitates timely patient flow to assure and accuracy of patient visit, scheduling, referral, and follow up care.
- Maintains knowledge of IT and software practices, telephone system and use of office equipment, accurately uses software systems related to all patient care and department activities and organizes and maintains equipment and supply inventory based on departmental needs.
- Problem solves effectively to meet patient care, departmental, and clinical staff needs for scheduling and coordinating patient care activities.
- Performs accurate vital signs, select components of patient history and updates medications/allergies into appropriate record and updates medical record with activities, interventions, patient, family responses, and test results.
- Administers prescribed treatments & immunizations in accordance with nursing standards, NH state law and under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse, physician or APRN.
- Manages onboarding process for new hires to facilitate seamlessness, efficiency, and protected confidentiality of new hire process.
- Manages medications, immunizations, supplied, patient care area supplies, and cleanliness based on standards and department needs.

Position Qualifications
Education:
- High School Graduate or GED required.
- Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program required.
Licensure/certification:
- BLS/CPR certification required.
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant/Receptionist required.
