WHAT IS A UNIVERSAL BANKER?

Our Universal Bankers assist and educate our customers on our account products, digital banking services and daily banking needs. Solutions Bank Universal Bankers work on the teller line and drive thru assisting customers as well as handling more complex banking needs. This is an extensive role where an individual with a strong desire grow will thrive. Universal Bankers will work a varied schedule including several Saturdays per month. Individuals who are enthusiastic, outgoing and possess a growth mindset will thrive in this extensive role and will have the opportunity to grow into one of the many positions available in our organization.

HOW WILL A UNIVERSAL BANKER SPEND THEIR TIME?

Creating an exceptional customer service atmosphere by treating customers with patience and attentiveness.

Opening consumer accounts - including trusts and estate accounts - including completing accurate supporting documentation.

Assessing customer's needs to suggest other appropriate bank products that fit the financial needs of the customer.

Assisting customers with a variety of banking transactions including checking, savings and loan transactions.

Assisting customers with other banking needs including debit cards, stop payments, wire transfers, check orders and gift cards.

Troubleshoot digital banking services including online banking, mobile banking, mobile capture, Zelle, bill pay and other digital products.

Properly disclose deposit rates.

Maintain and balance cash drawer and locating offages for yourself and your teammates as needed.

Perform vault teller duties including preparing currency orders, completing branch balancing, researching offages and acting as the administrator on the coin machine and cash recycler.

Utilize a variety of software programs and technology including Fiserv Precision, Director and Integrated Teller.

Answer phone calls in a polished, professional manner.

Use your independent judgement on customer issues and provide support to your teammates.

Communicating with customers and coworkers via email, phone and mail.

Completing training and learning how to improve in your current role and prepare for future growth.

Working with a talented and diverse team of coworkers across departments and locations.

Maintaining your composure when assisting an upset customer using your emotional-intelligence and problem-solving skills.

Seeking out additional duties including reports, filing, scanning and other office duties.

The hard skills that a Universal Banker may possess include : Cash Handling, Mathematics, Computer Knowledge, Basic Accounting Knowledge, Knowledge of Bank Standards, Knowledge of Bank Processes, Accuracy, Knowledge of Bank Products, Knowledge of FDIC Insurance, Knowledge of Office Products, Knowledge of Fiserv Precision Program

We have a fantastic training team who can teach you the duties and responsibilities required for the position. Training includes an intensive 3-week period spent at our Freeport office where you are given a strong foundation of banking knowledge and Solutions Bank processes. Ongoing training is provided to ensure employees continue to grow and thrive with Solutions Bank!

WHAT PAY AND BENEFITS

This is a salaried, non-exempt position with a pay range of $44,800 - $67,200 depending on experience. Solutions Bank offers medical, dental, vision, life insurance, accidental death & dismemberment insurance, long-term disability and 401k Profit Sharing plan with non-discretionary company contribution. Paid time off benefits include vacation time, sick leave, Illinois Paid Leave for All Workers Leave, paid birthday day off, paid volunteer time, and holiday pay.
