What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Therapist position at SOLUTIONS BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS?
Summary/Objective:
This position works as part of the multi-disciplinary treatment team within Solutions’ Outpatient Services and provides assessment and intervention services for children and adults with a wide range of mental health disorders. It conducts diagnostic assessments to determine mental health conditions and service needs. It provides evidence-based mental health treatment within the parameters of documented training and supervised work experience and internal or external referrals as needed.
Required Education and Experience:
Must posses a master’s or doctoral degree and be a Licensed Psychologist, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Must be eligible for third party credentialing. Must pass a background check. This position requires excellent “people” skills, including sincerity, discretion, rapport, empathy, and persistence in the face of resistance. It also requires the intellectual skills to be able to conceptualize cases and plan for effective treatment, including crisis management.
Essential Functions:
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provision of individual, group, or family psychotherapy to assigned clients, within competency areas.
- Conduct diagnostic assessments as assigned, collecting areas of information expected by third party payers.
- Ensure services provided are medically necessary and evidence-based.
- Develop an initial treatment plans at the onset of therapy; complete periodic treatment plan reviews in keeping with program standards.
- Coordination of care with other service providers, as appropriate.
- Case consultation as clinically indicated.
- Clinical supervision as assigned.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Complete notes for services rendered in a timely manner, in keeping with policy and providing justification for diagnoses and treatment or service recommendations.
- Provide required information for billing to third party vendors (e.g., prior approval for managed care/insurance as needed).
- Maintain professional licensure requirements, including continuing education.
- Participate in mandatory agency trainings, as scheduled.
- Attend outpatient and administrative meetings as assigned.
- Attend scheduled case consultation meetings, in keeping with standards.
- Contribute to the development of agency policies and procedures as assigned.
- Complete time and expense sheets bi-weekly.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Under normal circumstances the employee will need to have the physical capacity to continuously use his/her hands for simple and firm grasping and fine manipulation. Occasionally the employee will be required to lift up to 20 pounds, push/pull items, squat, kneel, stoop, bend, and twist upper body.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, hours are generally between 8-5.
Travel: Some travel may be required.
