Job Description
The Regional Director of Nursing (RDON) is responsible for overseeing the clinical operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care across multiple Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) within an assigned region. This leadership role focuses on compliance, staff development, operational efficiency, and resident satisfaction while maintaining adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.

Additional Qualifications:
· Must meet State and Federal requirements for holding an active RN license in the state of Missouri.
· Background check clearance, reference checks, and criminal conviction checks (including fingerprinting as may be required by state law) These checks include but are not limited to Criminal Background Check (CBC), Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR), and Employee Disqualification List (EDL).
· Minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience, with at least 2 years in a regional or multi-site role within a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred.
· Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state regulations for SNFs, including Medicare and Medicaid requirements.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
Include, but are not limited to:
1. Clinical Oversight:
· Monitor and evaluate clinical operations at each facility to ensure compliance with policies, standards of care, and regulatory requirements;
· Provide guidance on nursing practices, resident care plans, and quality assurance initiatives;
· Conduct regular audits and mock surveys to identify and address deficiencies and poor quality outcomes.
2. Leadership and Staff Development:
· Mentor and develop Directors of Nursing (DONs) and clinical leadership teams within the region;
· Assist in onboarding new Directors of Nursing (DONs);
· Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities;
· Facilitate communication between facilities to share best practices and foster a collaborative culture.
3. Regulatory Compliance:
· Ensure all facilities comply with state and federal regulations, including CMS guidelines, HIPAA compliance, and OSHA standards;
· Support preparation for state inspections/surveys and assist with developing and implementing corrective action plans;
4. Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI):
· Assist in developing Nursing Department goals and PIPs;
· Lead QAPI programs across the region to improve resident outcomes and satisfaction;
· Analyze data trends to identify areas for clinical improvement and implement evidence-based solutions.
5. Operational Management:
· Collaborate with regional and corporate leadership to align nursing operations with organizational goals;
· Assist in implementing new policies, procedures, and initiatives.
6. Resident and Family Relations:
· Promote a resident-centered care approach, ensuring dignity and respect in all interactions;
· Assist in addressing and resolving resident or family concerns related to clinical care.
Working Conditions
· Frequent travel within the assigned region (up to 75%).
· Ability to work a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
· May require occasional evening or weekend availability to address urgent matters.
· Interim facility DON assignment if needed

Routine Schedule
· 8am-4:30pm Monday-Friday, could vary with special assignments/projects
· Available to respond to emergency situations outside of normal working hours.
· Any deviations to the “routine schedule” must be communicated and approved by the CCO at a minimum of 2 weeks in advance when possible.
