What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician in a Compounding Retail Pharmacy position at Solutions Specialty Pharmacy?
-Non sterile compounding including topical preparations, solutions, suspension, suppositories, troches, sublingual tablets, capsules
-STERILE compounding under direct pharmacist supervision
-Prioritize Compounding orders
-Compounding Record maintenance
-Compounding Equipment Maintenance
-Patient information maintenance
-Prescription order entry
-Fill prescriptions
-Cash Register transactions
-Inventory Management including ordering supplies & medications and pulling short-dated and expired products, put away prescription medications as they are received
-Monitor pharmacy refrigerator and freezer
-Maintain continuing education and knowledge in the following areas:
o Safety
o Hazardous substances
o Medication safety
o Patient confidentiality
o Medication Errors
-(1)The main duty will be dispensing commercial and compounded medications, but will also include prescription order entry and filling with the possibility of cross training for compounding duties, and any other duties assigned by the Pharmacist-in-Charge for the efficient operation of the pharmacy.
-The position is full time between 40 hours per week with possible overtime
