Essential Job Function
- Observe, analyze, and translate operational readiness challenges into analytic constructs and visualizations for use in addressing long-term, recurring issues/taskings and time-critical, one-time issues/taskings (e.g., within four hours of senior leader request for analysis)
- Conduct analyses and visualizations to define readiness problem statements and provide solutions that incorporate readiness data and corresponding investment decisions within the required amount of time as stated by Government lead. To the maximum extent possible use robotic process automation techniques to minimize repetitive human tasks and host serve the data in a distributed fashion within the USAF Data Fabric.
- Demonstrate how analysis can improve command readiness and better meet AF and DoD-mandated reporting criteria.
- Assist with the interpretations of Air Force, Joint Staff, Office of the Secretary of Defense, and Congressional questions regarding readiness and deliver actionable studies and analysis products, results, conclusions, insights, and visualizations.
- Readiness reporting analysis and visualization to address Air Force, Department of Defense and Congressional leadership information, policy, and technical requirements.
- Analysis and visualization to support policy and funding changes to the USAF Flying Hour Program, aviation fuels management and authorized ancillary services.
- Readiness analysis and visualization to support AF/A3TR recurring and situational directed tasks to include readiness reporting queries to analyze reporting data and formulate output products for leadership.
- Fully support Vice Chief of Staff Readiness Brief
Minimum Qualifications
- Current Secret security clearance
- Seven (7) years of combined experience that includes DoD readiness analysis and/or military service at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels; master’s degree in a field related to analysis; five (5) years of experience in data analysis; three (3) years of experience on or supporting the Air Staff or an equivalent strategic level staff and knowledge and understanding of Air Force operations. Possess Master's degree or higher in data science/data analytics or comparable subject area.
- Ability to apply expert analytic and evaluative skills to determine actions necessary to support a variety of major missions and operational plans that are compatible with previous OSD decisions, AF strategy, policies, concepts and objectives, and Congressional decisions, to provide the most beneficial range of alternatives to AF leadership
- Ability to extract, manipulate, distill and present a variety of readiness related inputs from multiple automated data sources into oral, written, and graphic depictions of data for use in senior level, decision quality material
- Ability to perform all other analytic tasks in support of AF/A3TR and/or as directed by the senior/team lead analyst
