Our client, a mission-driven public company, is looking for a Senior Product and Commercial Counsel to add to its legal team. This attorney will work on a broad range of commercial matters as well as product counseling and regulatory matters.
The ideal candidate for this role will have 5 years of experience practicing at a leading law firm or in a legal in-house role, with experience working on customer contracts and related regulatory issues. A mix of law firm and in-house experience is preferred, but our client will consider candidates currently at top law firms.
\n- Developing and maintaining the Company’s core customer agreements, base forms and template agreements to support the Company’s customer-facing agreements in a variety of jurisdictions.
- Collaborating with the Company’s products teams to structure new product offerings, modify existing offerings and vet regulatory issues.
- Reviewing proposed regulatory and licensing changes and advise / assist the Company’s policy teams in developing and implementing advocacy strategies.
- Overseeing aspects of the Company’s licensing operations and ensure compliance.
- Advising the business on any operational changes needed to comply with new regulatory requirements.
- Assisting on regulatory and licensing matters on an as-needed basis.
- As needed, managing outside counsel with respect to the product, regulatory, and licensing initiatives described above.
- Preference for 7-10 years experience, but a minimum of 5 years of practicing at a leading law firm or in a legal in-house role, with experience working on customer contracts and related regulatory issues.
- Meticulous organizational skills with a keen eye for detail, completeness and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Extensive experience in multitasking projects, workloads, managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and competing priorities.
- Fluent in information technology, software, and systems, including, for example, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat, DocuSign and databases.
- Experience with project management across teams and executing on strict deadlines.
- A problem-solving mindset and proactive approach to improving and optimizing organization and processes on an ongoing basis.
- A self-starter mentality coupled with a sense of curiosity and a desire to learn, improve, and grow your skill set.
- An ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to proactively determine answers, glean additional information, and research, to complete work and adequately inform appropriate subject matter experts accordingly.
- Cultivation of trust and reliability with stakeholders throughout the Company ecosystem.

The current targeted base salary for this position ranges from $220K - $240K, plus an annual discretionary bonus and equity. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, years of directly relevant experience, and geographic location.
