Job Description Summary:

The Site Safety Manager will coordinate, implement, and monitor the Corporate Safety Programs at various project locations.

Job Description:

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist training and education to assigned labor and company personnel regarding safety requirements.
  • Assist in conducting the site Safety Orientation to new employees and visitors.
  • Verify pre-job safety planning documents (JHA and PTP’s) plan for potential hazards and problems prior to start of job.
  • Audit jobsites to ensure site safety program and OSHA compliance.
  • Verify emergency response plans for projects are accurate and up to date.
  • Work with Site Safety Manager to organize and schedule basic first aid training for jobsite personnel.
  • Assist in investigation for bodily injury and property damage incidents under the leadership of the site Safety Manager.
  • Coordinate project safety programs with subcontractors
  • Turn in Near Misses, site safety audits and open/close safety issues for the site via Sunscreen.
  • Provide updated information to employees regarding safety requirement changes (legal or otherwise)
  • Assist with foremen’s and monthly superintendent’s safety meetings.
  • Identify and handle project management personnel needing assistance, training, or discipline in meeting Corporate safety guidelines and goals
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned by the Site Safety Manager.

  • Reduction of frequency and severity of injury accidents
  • Reduction of Workers' Compensation, General Liability, and property premiums
  • Elimination of OSHA citations
  • Development of positive attitudes on the part of employees regarding safe work practices
  • Reduction of disabling injuries related to construction work.
  • Customer/Client Satisfaction
  • Improved personal professional growth and education.
  • Professional Certification such as CESCP, CHST, OHST, CSP or CUSP.
  • CPR/First Aid Trainer
  • Company IIPP
  • Site Specific Safety Plan
  • Company forms and documentation.

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:

  • 3 yrs. Safety Experience
  • AS in safety or equivalent years’ experience.
  • OSHA 30, OSHA 500, CPR First Aid
  • 5 years’ experience in construction or related field
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA Construction Regulations
  • Ability to evaluate construction work activities with respect to safety and loss control.
  • Ability to recognize and analyze Company trends with respect to Company accidents.
  • Ability to recognize training needs and develop training in safety.
  • Computer skills, i.e. Word, Power Point
  • Presentation skills

Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:

  • Occasional exposure to dust and fumes, electric shock, radiation, toxic/caustic chemicals
  • Requires frequent stooping/bending/crouching, reaching, handling, finger dexterity, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting 20 or more lbs.
  • Constant finger dexterity and ability to see details at close range and at a distance, hear, and talk, and possess depth perception.
  • Occasional climbing and carrying, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working in high exposed places.
  • The noise intensity level can be high.

$30.00 - $35.00
