Junior Credit Analyst

Our Credit Analysts work closely with our Commercial Loan Officers, supporting their efforts analyzing and underwriting credit presentations. The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and possess a high degree of financial statement analytical skills. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience of five or more years in a bank credit department is highly preferred.

Position Title:                                                                                                           Reports To:

Junior Credit Analyst                                                                                                                                 AVP, Credit Department Manager

 

                                                                             

Position summary:                                   

Under the direction of the Credit Department Manager, the Junior Credit Analyst works closely with the commercial lending officers and staff, supporting their efforts in guiding and processing loan requests for the Bank’s Officers’ Loan Committee.  Assists in performing various Credit Department duties and tasks in conformance with Bank policies and procedures.  Responsible for supporting other general and administrative departmental needs as required.    

 

  • Loads financial information from accountant prepared and internally prepared financial   

      statements or business tax returns of commercial borrowers into computer based 

      spreadsheet program.                                                             

  • Analyzes borrowers’ financial condition relative to performance, repayment ability, trends, 

      industry, collateral and cash flow.

  • Prepares detailed loan presentations containing independent analysis for new and renewal 

      loan proposals to be reviewed by loan officer and weekly by Officers’ Loan Committee.

  • Provides additional analytical assistance to loan officers as requested.
  • Supports the Bank’s credit investigation function, including credit reports and trade reports and researches and provides 3rd party credit references for the Bank’s commercial customers.
  • Assists in data accumulation to aide Departmental report requirements.
  • Adheres to bank policies and procedures and performs other duties as required.

 

 

Skills and Attributes:

 

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient working knowledge of excel, word processing and other financial software applications.
  • Familiarity with reading business financial statements and tax returns.                                               

 

Experience and Education:

 

  • 4-year bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field
