The Impact You'll Make in this Role
- Leads the Main QC Laboratory priorities to meet production needs.
- Support special requests, equipment troubleshooting and training of laboratory practices.
- Performs complex tests, and/or experiments and analyses of materials and product samples in the main QC Laboratory to ensure quality products using various testing methodologies and equipment.
- Provides analyses based on a complete understanding of quality procedures, basic statistics, techniques, products, and equipment and knowledge of the production operation.
- Conducts training for QC technicians when issued on-the-job (OTJ) checklists and ensures competency and timely completion of OTJs.
- Assists in training in basic quality principles and procedures.
- Performs calibration and preventive maintenance of test equipment and standardization procedures before its use.
- Communicates results to appropriate staff.
- Makes recommendations for changes in procedures and standards as required.
Your Skills and Expertise
- A minimum of three years of experience in a Quality Technician role.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a regulated manufacturing facility.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment (Instrons, balances, ovens, spectrometer).
- Computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Work Environment
- Onsite location: Brookings, SD.
- Domestic travel up to 5%.
