Solvere Technical Group is seeking a Senior Marine HVAC and Refrigeration Engineer to design, develop and evaluate operation of shipboard HVAC&R systems including heating/cooling load, duct sizing, chill water piping calculations, and equipment selection. Conduct HVAC&R trade studies. Lead engineers in development efforts, reviews of technical data packages and coordinate with other functional areas to complete ship design. Will work "Onsite" 4 days per/week and 1 day remotely in Baltimore, Maryland.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop ship propulsion and control systems specifications as they relate to Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning
(HVAC). Perform design reviews and feasibility analyses on concept, preliminary, contract, and detail design of marine HVAC and refrigeration
systems. Provide documentation and support on integration HVAC systems and elements.
Job Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years documented experience relating to the design of marine HVAC and/or refrigeration systems.
Knowledge of ABS, USN, and industry standards relating to shipboard HVAC systems.
1 year of experience related to federal ship or boat building acquisition programs required.
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
Additional certifications, such as PE License, PMP, DHS Systems Engineering
Certification, or DHS Program Management Certifications, preferred.
Experience with DoD ACAT I or DHS Level I shipbuilding programs preferred.
Education:
BS or MS in Technical, Engineering, or Marine Degree from ABET accredited institution, related to field of work.
Security:
Must have a Secret Clearance or higher.
Must pass a standard background check.
Place of Performance:
Will work "Onsite" 4 days per/week and 1 day remotely in Baltimore, Maryland.
Baltimore, Maryland: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Schedule:
8 hour shift
Monday to Friday
