As a private members' club with an attached bottle shop, we provide a curated experience where recommendations are tailored to each member's preferences.
This is a true sommelier role—not an upselling position, not an administrative-heavy job, but a position where wine knowledge, curation, and hospitality take center stage.
This role will begin Summer 2025 (Approximately July).
About the Role
Solvino’s Head Sommelier will work alongside ownership to oversee the wine program for both the bottle shop and the members’ lounge. This role is ideal for a passionate wine professional who thrives in an environment focused on education, curation, and hospitality rather than sales quotas or excessive paperwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Open and close the bottle shop and oversee daily operations.
- Assist customers with wine selections, ensuring an elevated and personalized experience.
- Help oversee the wine program, contributing to selections, inventory, and member recommendations.
- Handle custom orders for members and customers, sourcing unique and rare wines.
- Provide tailored bottle recommendations for members to enjoy in the restaurant.
- Assist with wine service in the members’ lounge.
- Host tastings, either independently or alongside winemakers.
- Conduct in-store sample tastings for customers.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Certified Sommelier, WSET 3, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a hospitality, fine dining, wine retail, distribution, or winery setting is a plus.
- Passion for Old World wine regions
- Strong knowledge of both classic and emerging wine regions.
- Ability to engage with customers and members to create a high-end, personalized wine experience.
