The role of Process Improvement Engineer (PIE) is to challenge the status quo and lead a culture of continuous improvement at Solvita. PIEs are responsible for embedding themselves in operations, proactively identifying new technologies and process improvements, collecting & analyzing data, and developing thorough strategies for implementation of projects with the highest level of integrity. The Process Improvement Engineer Will
- Lead the resolution of a wide variety of projects with autotomy and accountability. Project objectives vary in complexity and scope, including positive impacts on safety, quality, yields, operational capacity, process development, software implementation, and facility design.
- Responsible for developing technical expertise and awareness of all operations to participate in discussions of new projects, business relationships, and proposed capital expenditures.
- Responsible for identifying and investigating new technologies and processes that improve efficiency and capabilities. This requires the ability to develop new relationships with third-party vendors and Solvita team members.
- Help lead the organization in developing and promoting a culture of continuous improvement through improvement recommendations with department leadership and active mentorship of other cross-functional teams. Mentorship includes development of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) related training materials, assisting in action planning, and resolving barriers in projects led by others.
- Work with various departments to identify, develop, and visualize new Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), utilizing PowerBi, to enable visibility into new improvement opportunities.
- Accountable to develop clear and thorough action plans for projects and regularly provide concise updates to department leadership and executive leadership. This includes projected timelines, barriers to completion, ability to deliver target ROIs, and data-driven decisions utilizing PowerPoint, PowerBi, and Gantt charts.
- Assist in validations as needed to support process improvement implementation.
- Must always exemplify integrity and ensure that Good Documentation Practices (GDPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and all quality guidelines, internal and external, are followed throughout project implementation.
