We are seeking a dedicated Cold Spray Technician to operate, maintain, and support advanced industrial Cold Spray equipment. Cold Spray is an emerging manufacturing technology enabling high performance metal coatings and 3D printing with metal powders.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on individual who enjoys tinkering and has a knack for problem-solving in a dynamic team environment. This role involves day-to-day operations with large industrial robotics, overseeing the Cold Spray process, maintaining equipment, and supporting our engineering team through documentation and basic diagnostics. This role will be onsite in our Webster location Monday-Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program 6-axis industrial robots to perform spray tasks.
- Set up, fixture, and mask components for spray tasks.
- Use hand and power tools to prepare components for spray project preparation and finishing.
- Operate industrial cold spray systems.
- Perform routine maintenance on cold spray machinery.
- Maintain accurate documentation for spray operations.
- Prepare metallic materials for evaluation through metallographic polishing.
- Perform testing on metallic materials with a mechanical load frame.
- Equipment troubleshooting and repair.
- Apply technical, mechanical, or material experience to improve system operations.
- Assist with building management tasks.
- Work on-site 5 days a week at facility out of Webster, MA.
Qualifications:
- Vocational training in a relevant field (such as robotics, thermal spray, machining, automotive, etc.) or 3 years of relevant job experience.
- Experience with operation of 6-axis industrial robots such as Fanuc, ABB, Motoman.
- Experience with dis- and re-assembling various bolted joints.
- Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
- Previous forklift experience is a plus.
- Experience in welding, fabrication, and/or machining is a plus.
- Any other trade experience is a plus.
