We are looking for a full-time Materials Engineer who loves working in a dynamic environment and is excited to grow with a team around advanced additive technologies. As a materials engineer with Solvus Global you will work with team members from many fields (mechanical, controls, software, etc.) to develop the process & procedure, validate the process, and ultimately deploy the process into full production.
You will especially be responsible for supporting rapid innovation in material and process development, as well as materials testing and analysis to ensure that our teams meet our customers’ needs. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include contributing to team activities, designing and executing experiments, analyzing additively manufactured materials via metallography, mechanical, or corrosion testing, and assisting selection of ideal materials and processes.
Required Attributes & Skills
- Must be a US Person according to FAR 22 CFR 120.15 (US Person).
- 0-7 years of practical experience (or 0-4 with BS) in technical materials testing & analysis role
- Experience with data entry and handling
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Desire to develop new skills on the job
Advantageous Attributes & Skills
- Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering
- Desire to work in a team-based environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with 1-2 of the following:
-Metallographic preparation techniques (mounting, polishing, etching)
-Mechanical testing (i.e. tensile, wear, bend, shear testing) per ASTM standards
-Analytical equipment (i.e. micro-indentation, optical microscope, SEM) operation and analysis
-Project management and leadership of small teams
-Additive manufacturing or coating processes
-Handling metallic powders
