Typical Duties Include:

• Testing and reporting on specific aspects of construction works in progress; such as concrete pours, reinforcing steel placement, drainage pipe placement, etc.
• Performing in-place nuclear density testing to monitor engineered fill material compliance with project compaction specifications
• Monitoring bituminous pavement placement operations and performing in-place nuclear density testing to monitor pavement compliance with project specifications
• Monitoring Portland cement concrete placement operations and performing appropriate standard field tests and molding compressive strength test specimens
• Developing, planning and overseeing geotechnical field investigations
• Performing laboratory testing of soil and other construction materials
• Preparing reports for documentation of field and laboratory data
• Preparing engineering analyses such as foundation designs, stability analyses, development of geotechnical design parameters for earth retention and groundwater control
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Proficiency in Civil Engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or similar drafting/design tools
• Ability to apply engineering fundamentals to shifting real world conditions
• Ability to work in field environments, including potential site visits and inspections
• Willingness to travel to different project sites as necessary
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
• Insurable driving record
