Typical Duties Include:
- Working on construction sites with Contractors, other Engineering Consultants, and ODOT inspectors to verify contractor activities meet project specifications.
- Travel to various jobsite locations throughout Northern Ohio to ensure compliance with construction site specifications.
- Performing in-place compaction testing to monitor the placement of construction materials in accordance with project compaction specifications and requirements.
- Working knowledge of project compaction requirements with the ability to interpret plans and specifications.
- Monitoring concrete placement operations and performing appropriate standard field tests and molding compressive or flexural strength test specimens.
- Inspecting and sampling Hot Mix Asphalt mixes in the field.
- Laboratory testing of soil and other construction materials.
- Documentation of field and laboratory data using mobile electronic devices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Ability to obtain and/or complete the following Company Paid Training:
o ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician—Level 1 certification within 90 days of employment.
o Complete GENERAL ODOT Commercially Useful Functions (CUF) Training certification within 90 days of employment.
o ACI or Ohio Aggregate — Level 1 certification within 90 days of employment.
o Troxler training within 90 days of employment.
o NETTCP Soils and Aggregate Inspector Certification within 180 days of employment.
- Valid driving license and insurable driving record.
- Ability to do moderate lifting (40 lbs. or more) and standing/walking for sustained periods of time.
- Must be able Ability to withstand all weather conditions (heat, rain, etc.).
- Occasional Overtime.
