POSITION: School Bus Driver
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) preferred
· Must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting check prior to starting employment.
· Valid Texas Driver’s License, CDL required
· Must possess a clean driving record
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
· Knowledge of all traffic and highway driving rules and regulations
· Skill in operating a motor vehicle and bus (commercial vehicle)
· Skill in operating a two-way radio
· Ability to react professionally and safely under potential or actual volatile conditions
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Safely transport students to and from locations
- Maintain bus safety and compliance, conduct routine checks of equipment, and report repair needs to the campus administrator.
- Maintain accurate travel, fuel, and other logs as mandated
- Ensure the cleanliness of the bus after trips and check keys back in
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure the comfort, health, and safety of students and staff.
- Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Write effective legal incident reports
- Operate all equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Compile, maintain and file all required records and documents including incident reports and activity reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS · Lifts/carries 30 pounds frequently, 40-50 pounds occasionally, more than 50 pounds occasionally with assistance. Pushing/pulling 10-40 pounds sporadically. Climb ladders, work in high places, work in cramped quarters and distinguish primary colors. Works in inclement weather. Demanding physical conditions. Must be able to work with potentially hazardous materials in a safe manner and safely perform required duties in potentially hazardous environments.

Pay: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekends as needed
