Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Assistant to join our dynamic marketing team. The ideal candidate will support various marketing initiatives, contribute to the development of advertising strategies, and assist in executing campaigns across multiple channels. This role is perfect for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in the marketing field while working in a collaborative environment.
Duties
- Overseeing the production of a bimonthly newsletter, including writing and gathering articles, news items and other pertinent information
- Support content marketing efforts by developing engaging content for websites, blogs, and social media channels.
- Help manage social media accounts, including scheduling posts and engaging with followers.
- Assisting the office manager with additional office duties, including cash receipts and deposits, as needed.
- Making updates to our website, including frequent updates to the online calendar of events.
- Utilize WordPress to update website content and ensure optimal user experience.
- Helping to plan and manage a variety of events, including events that may be held outside of the normal 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. workday.
- General office work, including answering the phone, greeting visitors, clerical work and counseling visitors on area attractions.
- Support advertising sales efforts through research and outreach activities.
- Help maintain marketing automation tools to streamline processes.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with desktop publishing, design and photo-editing software or the entire Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign and Photoshop
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook, as well as navigating the internet is a must.
- Experience managing social media accounts for a business preferred.
- Knowledge of website management, including WordPress, a plus.
- Professional writing skills for a variety of mediums, including news articles, press releases, social media and marketing pieces.
- Excellent organization, time management and people skills and self-motivated attitude.
- A basic knowledge of Somerset County and Laurel Highlands region helpful.
