Functions under the detailed guidelines established by the laws of New Jersey and the rules and specifications required by various State agencies. Acts as a liaison between Municipal and State Officials and the Board of Commissioners.

- Provides executive assistance to the Board of Commissioners by facilitating the compilation of information such as analysis and recommendations to solutions to issues brought by the public, County departments and divisions as well as outside agencies.
- Provides executive assistance to the Board of Commissioners in responding to correspondence received requiring a response in an efficient manner and time frame.
- Drafts correspondence for the Board of County Commissioners as requested for various occasions.
- Serves as a key contact with the public, State and Municipal officials, Federal officials, non-profit organizations, officials from other Counties and outside agencies to perform tasks necessary to ensure the smooth, efficient and effective flow of work and information among these groups.
- Coordinates and collects all information for any issue to be brought before the Board to ensure legal or procedural compliance.
- Attends functions with Commissioners to act as a point of contact for follow up of information. Functions may be during or after standard business hours.
- Maintains a master calendar for the Board of Commissioners.
- May assist in the preparation of the Annual Organization Meeting and other County sponsored events.
- Handles sensitive and confidential issues and high priority projects as required and completes with the utmost confidentiality.
- Composes special correspondence, resolutions, citations or ceremonials as required.
- Manages all incoming emails to the Commissioner's Office, handles inquires and routes to appropriate areas for completion.
- Assists the Clerk of the Board with day-to-day office operations including preparation of the monthly meeting agenda and related documents.
- Responds to inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Essential
- Post High School studies in Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Science or Government.
- Three (3) years of government experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience satisfactory to the Board.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to harmoniously work with a diverse population.
- Thorough knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to County government as well as County policies and procedures.
- A valid New Jersey Driver's License.
- Thorough knowledge of regulations, procedures and responsivities applied to Municipal, County and State government with a basic knowledge of their operations, methods and practices.
- Course study in Public Policy and/or Municipal Administration and Leadership.
