Position Summary
This position exists within the Office of Youth Services to enable Somerset County to benefit from the ongoing development of financial and community-based support systems for youth and families through support and efforts of the Municipal Youth Services Commission.
Essential Functions
- Supports the accomplishments of the Division’s strategic plan
- Develops collaborations with community agencies, programs, and services to support all related Division activities
- Supports the volunteer stakeholders at the local level through conducting need assessments, helping the community to identify and implement programs that meet unmet needs, preparing reports and sharing resources related to at risk youth.
- Position exists to oversee the programs purchased through Commissioner funds to ensure appropriate expenditures as well as quality assurance and outcome achievement.
- Attends all Juvenile Officer meetings to share information on issues at the local level
- County representative for Franklin Youth Initiative. Works with community members and local officials in identifying the needs of at-risk youth and their families with the community and bringing resources to the community to address those needs.
- Participates with other community-based coalitions as necessary.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with experience in community planning and development.
- Previous public agency experience is desired.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have a valid NJ Driver’s License

Pay: $42,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
