What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician position at Somerset Regional Animal Hospital?
We are looking for a full-time technician to join our crew!
This position will require you to work with all things scaly, feathered, pocket sized and just downright adorable. While you do not have to have the experience working with exotics exclusively, being comfortable working with them is a must.
As a tech, here are a few responsibilities/ daily tasks you will have:
- Monitor hospitalized pets
- Prepare prescriptions
- Perform routine lab work
- Educate clients regarding veterinary care and procedures
- Assist with surgical procedures
- Conduct patient assessments
- Perform procedures and treatments
- Communicate clearly with the veterinarian, other hospital staff and clients
Our idea of an ideal technician is friendly and flexible in the face of varying expectations from clients and co-workers. Quickly prioritizes, multi-tasks, thinks creatively and must respond quickly and calmly to emergencies, leading others through necessary tasks.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
