Assistant Controller

Somerset Regal Bank is seeking a motivated and driven candidate to work under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer for a growing public company located in Central New Jersey. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting, financial reporting and regulatory reporting in the banking or financial services industry. Candidate will lead and manage a small team while fulfilling responsibilities of the position. ( On-site / not remote)

Position Responsibilities :

Oversee various aspects of accounting and finance daily operations

Prepare SEC filings on forms 10-Q and 10-K

Prepare regulatory reporting forms FFIEC, FR2644 and FRY-6

Manage monthly and yearly accounting close process

Perform variance analysis and cash flow projections

Prepare reports for management and board of directors

Help develop process improvements to support more efficient reporting cycles

Assist third party tax preparer in the timely and accurate filing of tax returns

Serve as liaison with internal and external auditors

Assist with calculation of ACL reserve

Perform ad hoc projects as needed

Requirements

Education and Relevant Experience-required :

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or related role

Minimum 5 years of banking or financial services experience

SEC reporting experience

Education and Relevant Experience-preferred :

Public accounting experience

Preparation of Call Report
