Somerset Subacute and Rehab is looking for a one of a kind person to join our team as a Director of Staff Development!
This is a full time, Monday-Friday position, and on-call as necessary.
This is a position on our IDT Team.
Must have prior DSD experience!
Purpose:
The Director of Staff Development is responsible for planning and implementing facility orientation, job skills training, and in-service education.

We are seeking an interim Director of Staff Development to join our subacute facility. In this role, you will have the chance to utilize your leadership skills and make a positive impact on aspiring Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) as they pursue their career goals. Although this role is considered to be interim, our facility is always looking for employees to develop into strong leaders and continue their employment within our organization as we are an Ensign-affiliated facility.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for CNAs, focusing on clinical skills, patient care, and professional development.
- Assess the learning needs of staff and provide ongoing education to enhance their knowledge and competence.
- Collaborate with the management team to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to staff training and development.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of CNAs through assessments and feedback to ensure high-quality care delivery.
- Serve as a mentor and resource to CNAs, fostering their growth and professional advancement.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experiences
- 2 years experience in a long-term care facility, SNF experience is a plus
- Knowledge and experience with PointClickCare
- Must have, as a minimum, 2 years of experience as a RN/ LVN in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility.
- Strong instructional and leadership abilities, with a passion for teaching and helping others succeed.
- Must have, as a minimum, 1 year of DSD experience.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Must possess an active license to practice as a RN/ LVN license valid in this state of CA.
- Must possess Director of Staff Development Certificate (DSD)
- Must have BLS certification
Schedule:
This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position, and on-call as necessary for the needs of the facility.
