Somerset Trust Company is seeking a highly skilled Telller to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and financial expertise to our retail branch customers.
Your primary duties will include accurately and efficiently performing a variety of customer transactions, such as check cashing, deposits, loan payments, and product explanations. You will also have the opportunity to identify opportunities to refer customers as needed and resolve any issues that may arise.
To succeed in this role, you must possess excellent problem-solving skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and have a strong understanding of banking procedures and regulations.
- Greet customers with a smile and provide personable, quick service.
- Receive checks and cash for deposit, verify amounts, and examine checks for endorsements.
- Cash checks and pay out money after verification of signatures and customer balances.
- Enter customers' transactions into the computer to record transactions and issue receipts.
- Balance currency, coin, and checks in the cash drawer at the end of each shift and compare totals with data displayed on the computer screen.
- Recognize opportunities to explain, promote, or sell financial products or services offered by the bank.
- Remove deposits from and count and balance cash in night depositories.
- Accept loan payments.
- Resolve customers' issues as they arise.
Requirements

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedures, operating instructions, and security protocols.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
