Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a HUD Housing Counselor (Asset Building Specialist) at Somerville Community Corporation. The role involves providing housing counseling, assisting with HUD programs, addressing foreclosures, and budgeting for housing needs. This role will also facilitate monthly virtual classes.
Qualifications
- Certified Housing Counselor and expertise in Housing Counseling
- HUD CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED.
- Knowledge and experience with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs
- Ability to address credit issues and assist with budgeting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with diverse communities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Associate's degree in relevant field (Social Work, Public Administration, etc.) is preferred
. Life experience may be accepted in lieu of formal education.
- Ability to work 4 evenings a month (virtually is required.
